Hardcover Very Good+: all volumes at least Very Good, almost all Very Good+: all show very light wear to the extremities; several volumes show a bit of rubbing toward the heel of the back strip; a couple volumes have been inexpertly "cut", leaving jagged outside edges on a few pages. Volumes I & III show a very faint stain from a drip of water at the backstrip. Else only very minor rubbing or scuffing. Bindings are all square and secure; text clean. Remains a clean, sturdy, and quite presentable set of 22 volumes. 8vo. Crimson cloth over boards with Gilt Titles at Back Strip. Top Edges Gilt. Volumes 14 and 16 Copyright 1904, the rest 1900. No difference in the binding or appearance. Hardback: No DJ 'as issued'.
