HC. VERY GOOD! This rare, 200-year-old (+/- 2-5 years) book contains the original "Hidden" 13th Amendment." More than 50 years before the 13th Amendment made slavery illegal, there was another 13th Amendment to the Constitution, ratified in 1814. The "original" l3th amendment prohibited accepting title, pensions, gifts, etc. To do so would cost that person's citizenship. Benj. B. Russell, Boston, undated, circ. 1821, apparent 1st ed. This small book, (3.5x5" high, 48 p.ps.) has gilt lettering and stamped decorative design to the front only. The brown covers have light corner wear, spine end curls & a ¼"x½" chip plus a tiny one on the spine cover. Inside, except normal page tanning, is solid, clean & unmarked; overall, in excellent condition: VERY GOOD!
