Engraved title pages,frontispiece to Vol I and numerous engravings throughout. Full black calf with gilt titles and decoration to spines and gilt border to boards; top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Spines sunned and scuffed with wear at tails; corners worn. Armorial bookplate of Henry Sefton Elsdale to front pastedown Vol I; minor damp staining lower edge of endpapers & prelims Vol II otherwise contents clean. Overall in Good condition. French text. A handsome matching set with fine engravings.
