Philadelphia: Printed by James Kay, Jun. & Brother, 1837. Very Good. [6] p., 1 leaf of an engraved plate; 29 cm. Disbound from a larger volume. Read before the Society on Jan. 14, 1835. The plate was drawn by S. Rufus Mason and engraved by J. Yeager. Joseph Henry (1797-1878), one of the founding fathers of electrical technology, was the first Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution. In this paper he describes his construction in 1833 and 1834 of a large galvanic battery for the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University). Very scarce. In Very Good Condition: disbound from a larger volume; last leaf is detached from remainder; shadow from plate onto first page of text; otherwise, clean and bright.
