The soil conditions determine the variable permeability of the ground and how movements of the groundwater will occur whem pumping schemes are introduced. Groundwater can be extracted and controlled by a variety of pumping methods or its movements constricted by the insertion of impermeable walls. This guide provides information by which these alternatives of pumping and walling systems can be assessed.
