Translated by George Szirtes, this is only the second novel of Marai's to have been translated into English at the time of publication. 294 pages, 5-3/4" X 8-3/4". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. No former ownership marks, no writing, this copy is not a remainder, not a library copy. High quality black cloth covered stiff boards with handsome burgundy colored paste down pages. There is age tanning to the edges of the pages, though that should be common considering the type of paper stock used. Not a remainder, not a library discard copy. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
