Sobre este artículo

London: John Walthoe et.al, 1740. Very Good.
Main author: Churchill, Awnsham, d. 1728. London : Printed by assignment from Messrs. Churchill for John Walthoe, Tho. Wotton, Samuel Birt, Daniel Browne, Thomas Osborn, John Shuckburgh and Henry Lintot Published: c1740 Engraver undisclosed.

Top has this written: V. II. .. In ye east indies ... betwixt page 147 148 and at the lower right .5. --- The plate measures 35.5 by 42 cm (14 by 16.5 in.) Actual engraving 29 by 35 cm (11.5 by 13.875 in.). There is a centerfold beginning to open on the bottom 1.5 in. Light age-toning, two minor edge fox marks on the upper edge.

An appealing picture of early colonial life. Turtles are being prepared for eating in a large pot; game is being brought into the camp; domestic goats and chickens are visible in the yards before the huts in the St. Vincent vista.

A second style of building and a rather nice observation of the mountains in the distance as 8 portraits of people are observed in the vicinity of the huts demonstrating daily life in the picture of St. Anthony. Though not stated St. Anthony may be on the island of Montserrat. The plate is from a collection of voyages and travels, some now first printed from original manuscripts, others now first published in English. To which is prefixed, an introductory discourse (supposed to be written by the celebrated Mr. Locke) intitled, The whole history of navigation from its original to this time. Illustrated with maps and cuts, curiously engraved.
