Francis Ysidro Edgeworth's (1845-1926) paper in which he describes the first systematic analysis of correlation in relation to the normal distribution. Herein he coins the term "coefficient of correlation." vii, [1], 533 pp. 8vo. 10 plates, all folding. Original three quarter leather binding with gold lines and titling to spine, call number at base of spine in white ink only indication of ex-library. Considerable wear and scuffing to the covers, losses at head and foot of spine and corners of boards, chipping along front hinge where darker surface leather has flaked off from use.
