Very good. - 8vo, plain stitched paper wraps (soiled & slightly chipped; tiny tears at head & tail of spine; inner edges of endpapers partially glued to wraps); titled in ink in an early hand on the front wrap. 22pp. Very good. <p>Jean-Marie Roland de la Platiere (1734-93). French revolutionary. Attacked Robespierre and Danton; tried to save the life of Louis XVI. He committed suicide upon learning of the execution of his wife.<p>The pamphlet regards disparaging remarks made by officers to Roland about the French army. LaFayette's 2-page defense of his troops is published on pages 14-15.
