(30.5 x 21.6 x 3.2 cm) Sheets loose as issued in original illustrated cover and plain cream colored chemise and slipcase. Printed on thick watermarked Arches paper. This is the original edition which had been in storage for many years.Printed by Draeger Frères in August, 1944 during the liberation of Paris from Nazi occupation. 94 pages with 28 facsimile drawings laid onto the Arches sheets and 13 manuscript letters printed directly on the Arches paper. Images and text printed in violet or purple. Edition of 1000 numbered copies.... The images retell incidents from Bonnard’s youth and the letters are fictional exchanges between Bonnard, his mother, brother and grandmother.
