Quarto, 11 3/4" tall, 158 pages, stiff illustrated wraps. An original periodical, good only overall with exterior shelf wear, moderate exterior soiling, spine chipped and front cover loose at hinge, edge torn and chipped at bottom fore-corner, internal binding solid, paper generallly clean lightly yellowed except for the first and last page which have been exposed. Note: 'The Cosmopolitan' began publication in 1886, founded by Paul Schlicht. Taken over by John Bisben Walker in 1889, it became a leading periodical for popular quality articles and fiction in its time, using quality illustration and the best authors, and being especially interested in keeping women readers--Taken over by Hearst, it began transition to a 'women's magazine began in the 1920's. A terrific read as an example of its moment in time and excellent resource.
