Hartford: PRINTED AND PUBLISHED BY CASE, LOCKWOOD AND COMPANY, 1862 Book. Fair. Half leather with cloth boards. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. TWO VOLUME SET. Vol. II is missing spine cloth and Vol. I has a three-inch chip at the bottom of the spine (can still see VOL. 1 #) and cracking at spine edges and corner tips exposed/rubbed. Covers are slightly loose on volume 2 (rear cover holding on by two strings). Black half leather set with cloth boards, gilt spine title, and marbled endpapers. Clear text pages with light to moderate foxing/page toning. About 10-1/2 x 7-1/2 x 2 with 1440 pages (total) plus maps. Two volume set. Illustrated. Fair to Good minus condition with sound text blocks..

Good full leather edition, has the previous owner's name on one of the front endpapers of both volumes and also in pencil on the title page of volume two. The leather on the spines is chipped and someone has stitched with cord a couple of places on the hinges of volume two. Corners are worn and leather boards have some rubbing. There is also and address label attached to the inside of both front boards. ; 10" x 7 1/2" .
