Slight wear to edges and corners of boards, a bit more to dj, with a couple closed tears to edges. xiii, 250 p. plus 539 mostly b&w plates on unnumbered pages, 2-8 plates per page. A deatiled examinition of this fire damaged 5th c. illustrated Greek Genesis. Only a few fragments of what was once 165 leaves remain after a fire in 1731 that also damaged the original Beowulf manuscript. An uncommon volume.
