Sobre este artículo

New York: Gay Brothers, 1890. First edition. Cloth. Head and heel of spine with small chips, top section of front hinge split, minor archival repair to top of inner front hinge, but still quite tight and overall a good solid copy.. Frontispieces (2), xxxi, 698 pp. Illus. with 230 b/w drawings, 1 photo, & 1 steel engraving. Sm. 4to. One of the least common of Lossing many works, this volume contains marvelous drawings in the section Great Wonderlands: from the Catskills, Adirondacs, and White Mountains to the Rockies, Columbia River, and Alaska. Of particular note is the View of Lake Minnewaska and Glen Mountain House. (The full title concludes with: ..."the story of our marvelous progress and growth as a nation; with picturesque sketches of our continent beyond the states comprising views in the dominion of Canada, her provinces and cities; the Republic of Mexico; Cuba, the gem of the Antilles; the Bahama Islands, and all the countries of South and Central America, their capitals and seaports).
