Sobre este artículo
(London, The Sportsman's Book Club, 1958). A History of the Competition from 1873 to the present day, with each season's final placings in full, team and individual playing records, etc. 8vo; original burgundy boards; no dustwrapper; pp. 151; 8 black-and-white plates; regular browning throughout. Very good condition. "The County Cricket Championship, the oldest cricket competition in the world, is generally accepted as starting in the 1873 season, but, as we shall see, that is a convenient date decided upon many years later. Cricket in the counties had started very much earlier. In 1744 Kent played England at the Artillery Ground, London, but cricket in those early years was far from being on an organized basis and it was not until 1836 that Sussex, the oldest of the county clubs, was formed." .
