Original green cloth, first volume (A TOUR ON THE PRAIRIES) rebacked with most of original backstrip laid down and original (chipped) printed label. Other volumes in original bindings, very good. Scattered tanning and foxing. Overall a good plus set. First American edition, first issue, of this narrative of Irving's trip to the Indian Territory in 1832. Irving was travelling with his nephew, John Treat Irving, and Indian Commissioner Henry Ellsworth. Accompanied with the two additional volumes which complete the "Crayon Miscellany."
