The Rockwell Kent-designed emblem of Charles Boni Paper Books on the title page. First American edition. Fourth unpaginated page following text contains subscription information for Charles Boni Paper Books, of which this title was the sixteenth and last to be issued. Former owner's name on frton free endpaper: ? Lola Horton. Charles Boni started this strikingly designed series of modern works in paperback in 1929; in 1930, after 16 titles had been issued, the subscription requirement was dropped and the series was renamed Bonibooks, published by Albert and Charles Boni. This title was not reissued as one of the 43 titles published as Bonibooks. The author studied 30 pairs of twins in order to determine whether the tendency to commit crimes is hereditary. In Very Good Condition: cover is lightly rubbed; small stain on back cover; pages are clean and tight.
