Philadelphia: Carey and Hart. Very Good+ with No dust jacket as issued. 1844. Reprint. Hardcover. Complete 4 (Four) Volume Set in full calf with black and red spinal gilt titled labels. Volume 1 (One) has a sunned black upper spinal label appearing light green now with gilt. Modest edge and corner wear for the sizeable volumes these are. Boards are fully attached, and blocks are solidly bound and unmarked. This is a beautiful full calf set. PON on small paper pasted down on reverse of free front marbled endpaper. Calf rejuvenated by seller/binder to preserve hinges and condition of leather. Typical of volumes of this age, there are some stains and pulls to the finish of the leather boards, less noticeable because of the beeswax, lanolin and neatsfoot oil treatment. .
