The covers are rubbed and stained and the spine is faded. There is evidence of early worming to the front joint and hinge as well as to the foreedge. xiv & 317 pages plus 4 pages of publisher's ads. The top edges of the half title and title pages are creased. There is some spotting to the bottom and foreedges of the book. Good. <p>First American edition.<p>Subjects include addresses on "Administrative Nihilism", "The School Boards: What they can do, and what they may do", "Medical Education", "the Formation of Coal", "Coral and Coral Reefs", "The Methods and Results of Ethnology", "Palaeontology and the Doctrine of Evolution", "Darwin's Critics", "The Genealogy of Animals", etc.
