Red coloured boards with black entwined author's initials to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel with black coloured titles to the backstrip. A historical romance from probably the 1930s, by one of the genre's early exponents. There is no readily available publication data, but the dedication page is dated 1937. Softening to the backstrip edges with bumping, rubbing and fraying of the book corners. The spine is somewhat cocked. Rubbing to the book panels, and either side of the backstrip. sunning to the backstrip with light browning of the textblock edges and paint foxing present. A previous owner has placed the date 28/10/00 to the top left-hand corner of the front paste-down, along with the number 67. There is a presentation plate to the free front end paper. Age toning and paint foxing to the pages and pages 117 through to page 126 have become a little dogeared, top right-hand corner. The hinge has cracked at the rear, the underlying webbing is visible.
