Sobre este artículo

Chicago: Milne, McKinnon, and Christie, 1992. Hardcover. Stated First Edition, First Printing. 6 x 8.25in. 30pp. Publisher's cloth boards. A review copy with a letter from the publisher laid-in. FINE/AS NEW in Near Fine dust jacket. The book itself is flawless. The dust jacket shows the slightest hint of shelf rubbing, else Fine/As New. As pictured.

Sinopsis

This work that is called “highly original” by literary critic John Bayley of Oxford University, “profound” by philosopher Sir Peter Strawson of Oxford University, “a new experiment” by art theorist Michael Camille of the University of Chicago, and “lovely” by mathematician Donal O’Shea of Mount Holyoke College is a work that brings together thinkers from differing fields that rarely – if ever - intersect with the same book. Creating its own place, refusing any easy categorization, it is a work that has drawn prestigious minds in the fields of literature, philosophy, art, and mathematics. “It marks the unusual and first combining of poetry, drawing, and geometry” as writes the Financial Times of London. Crane’s ink drawings on paper for the book are done completely by hand. Is the writing more important or the art? The answer is difficult to arrive at: “Crane’s is truly a writing at the boundaries, an art-making at its verbal best” as writes literary and arts theorist Marjorie Perloff of Stanford University. Crossed Silver is a work that requires time to reflect upon, that took 7 years for Crane to complete.
