Boston, MA: Little, Brown and Company. Very Good. 1912. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. Color Illustrations; This book is in Very Good condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some bumping, rubbing and wear. There is a small hole poked into the front cover of the book by the author's name. The rear spine inner hinge has cracked and has been partially repaired. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a previous owner's name on the front endpaper. "Forced by ill health to give up her school, Waller wrote her first novel in 1902, The Little Citizen. She lived in Bethel, Vermont with her mother at a historic house called Gate of the Hills until 1918. Many of her novels were written in and set in Vermont. Her earliest works were her most successful. A Daughter of the Rich (1903) , The Wood-Carver of 'Lympus (1904) , and Sanna (1905) ran through more than a dozen editions each" (from Wikipedia) .
