First edition. Signed by the author to the title page. A seemingly inexplicable murder occurs in the midst of the panorama of life in contemporary Japan. Impressive in its complexity and insight, this novel explores the recurrent misunderstandings between the East and West. Written by Francis Henry King, a British novelist and short story writer who worked for the British Council for 15 years, with positions in Europe and Japan. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light shelf wear and minor sunning to the spine. The odd small mark to the rear panel. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the endpapers. Near Fine

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
