Hardcover. thick 4to, 25.5cm, 16th thousand, in 2 volumes, xvi,672 & [xvi],717pp., with c.265 plates and illustrations from engravings, (inc. 2 engraved frontis portrait, one being a fine engraving of Samuel Johonson), index, in the original straight ribbed green cloth, blind stamped borders and crests on the boards, gilt spine titles, some slight wear at the edges, top spine edge worn, slight faded but a very good sound set ().
