These cylindrical bottles were not only widely used in Britain but also found their way to her colonies and other countries engaged in trade with Britain.In this meticulous study, Jones examines 211 sealed and dated cylindrical bottles alongside 127 complete undated bottles. The goal? To establish criteria for dating these cylindrical “wine” bottles produced between 1735 and 1850.
