Sobre este artículo
New York, NY Phaidon Publishers, Inc. , 2001. Paperback First Edition (2001), so stated. First Edition (2001), so stated. Very Good+ to Near Fine in Wraps: shows a small patch of multicolored lines at the middle of the front panel (at first we thought they were part of the book's design - and a not-unattractive addition - but we do not see them on images presented online, so they must be spurious); a hint of thumbing to the fore-edge; else flawless; the binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Free of creases to the panels. Free of creases to the backstrip. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome, very nearly-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing a couple of cosmetic imperfections. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 24mo. (6.2 x 5.35 x 0.45 inches). unpaginated. Profusely illustrated with duotone photographic plates. Language: English. Weight: 8 ounces. 55 Series. Trade Paperback. Daido Moriyama (born October 10, 1938) is a Japanese photographer best known for his black-and-white street photography and association with the avant-garde photography magazine Provoke. Moriyamas rough, unfettered photographic style makes use of sharply tilted angles, grainy textures, harsh contrasts, and blurred movements to capture the rawness of human experience as seen through the photographers wandering gaze. Many of his well-known works from the 1960s and 1970s are read through the lenses of post-war reconstruction and post-Occupation cultural upheaval. Defying any categories, Daido Moriyama stretches the boundaries of photography and peers into the dark and blurry places that frighten us. The book's comments on each photo by Kazuo Nishii are extremely worthwhile also, providing an insight into Daido's work that isn't to be found elsewhere.
