Colour-illust. boards (rubbing, minor darkening to spine, creasng, a couple of the pop-ups w/ minor damage), but still a VG- copy of this volume in the series. First edition of this beautiful installment in the wonderful Daily Express annual series which featured elaborate pop-up illustrations using the term “Self-erecting models,” as the term “Pop-Up” had been trademarked by Blue Ribbon in the United States for their very popular series. The most elaborate of the illustrations is a fantastic paper-engineered underwater scene, reminiscent of a Victorian Aquarium, featuring a glassine similar to glass, and depicting saltwater fish, seahorses, and invertebrates swimming around inside in the three-dimensional model, mounted on a seabed illustrations distinctively intended to emulate the bottom of an aquarium.
