Pp. 204, printed in various colour combinations, 16 coloured plates within pagination, numerous text illustrations (several printed in two colours), the pictorial title page printed in green & black; small cr. 4to; pictorial papered boards, a trifle canted and faintly soiled, edges lightly rubbed and bottom fore-corners faintly bruised; dust wrapper, (not clipped, but with no printed price on the front flap), lightly foxed, edges rubbed and split, with a couple of tiny chips; inked gift inscription (dated 1959) at head of upper pastedown, text block slightly browned, the first coloured plate loosening, outer leaves and edges lightly foxed; Associated Newspapers Limited, London, n.d.[1959?]. *Contains a Biggles story, Horace Takes a Hand, by Captain W. E. Johns, which was later included in Biggles Flies to Work (1963).
