Sobre este artículo
Cambridge: The Limited Editions Club, 1969. Limited edition. Hardcover. vg+ to fine. 1/1500. Small Octavo. XVI, [1], 92pp, [1]. Burgundy leatherette textured slipcase. Original red morocco with gold lettering on spine and front cover. Top of paper edges in gilt. Marbled end papers. Color frontispiece. Title page in olive and black lettering.
This limited edition, #1179 of 1500 copies is signed by the illustrator Gustave Nebel at the colophon. Originally published in 1878, "Daisy Miller: A Study" brought its author international fame. The plot centers around a Europeanized American man named Winterbourne, who meets a nouveau riche American woman going by the name Daisy Miller. A short novel, James wields the sword of fiction to craft a "study" of the roles of men and women, social relationships, cultural intersection, the allure of money, foolishness and wisdom, the responsibilities of parents, and the impact of one's life upon others. This volume is splendidly illustrated throughout by Gustave Nebel.
Binding with sunning to spine. Slipcase and binding in very good+, interior in near fine to fine condition overall.
