Green hardcover cloth binding with yellow spine is cocked, bumped and a little wear at corners, but clean and tight interior 244 pages. DJ has wrinkles, large piece missing bottom of spine some closed tears but protected from further damage in clean Brodart jacket. Horse loving girl, crippled by polio, is initially uninspired by her family's move to an Arizona ranch. Overcoming her fears, she tries riding a horse again and discovers a wild buckskin mare trapped in a canyon. She is determined to tame and ride the mare, and it is low slow process. When an endurance ride offers her a chance at a scholarship, her courage overcomes her handicap.. Illus. by Dennis, Wesley. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover. Good/Good.
