Sobre este artículo
University of Nebraska Press, 1982. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "For Jim in friendship, heresy in dark covers, Dick." Awesome inscription. A psychoanalytic take on Thoreau that portrays him as motivated to high art by his alienation. Bridgman was a professor at UC Berkeley. Acquired in Concord, MA. Fine book in very good jacket with edge wear and a few nicks including one tape-mended tear and attending crease at top corner of front panel. We invite you to explore our growing collection of signed and inscribed books related to Thoreau. // Wood (+) River (=) Books specializes in ecology, natural history, nature writing, the environment, and environmental literature, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions.

Sobre Rural Hours
Rural Hours (formerly Wood + River = Books, est. 2019) specializes in ecology, natural history, nature writing, the environment, environmental literature, and contemporary essay, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions. We draw our name from the popular-but-then-forgotten book by Susan Fenimore Cooper (published in 1850), generally considered the first work of environmental creative nonfiction by a woman in the U.S. We are interested in challenging and expanding the canon of environmental literature and finding books that tell remarkable stories and illuminate the tradition of writing about place and natural history.
