New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1946. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Walter Kumme. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1946. First Edition and First Printing, with "A" on the copyright page. Octavo, jacket illustrated by Walter Kumme, light green buckram boards with gilt spine and cover imprinting, illustrated endpapers also by Kumme, top page edges dyed black, 303 pp. A Very Good book, fairly spoted on covers but otherwise without notable flaw, in a bright, clean, unclipped, better than VG jacket with some peripheral wear and a bit of foxing on the back panel. A scarce first printing of Weston's brooding novel about a war widow who enters an intricately swirling emotional state when she meets a man who seems nearly identical to her deceased husband. L-30n
