Sobre este artículo

London: Methuen & Co. Ltd,, 1942. An inscribed copy of the author's two visions for humanity First edition, first impression, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "Frank Noyce from Olaf Stapledon". This title is scarce inscribed. This science fiction novel describes two possible futures for the world, each dependent on the outcome of the success or failure of a "Tibetan Renaissance". One future involves Chinese imperialist rule and the subsequent end of the human race; the other ends in the establishment of a socialist utopia. Stapledon describes it as a expression of "two dispositions now in conflict in the world... the will for darkness and the will for light" (Preface). The recipient may be Sir Frank Noyce of the Indian Civil Service, father of Wilfrid Noyce, member of the first British Everest expedition. Octavo. Original green cloth, spine lettered in red. With dust jacket. Spine cocked and sunned with two tiny punctures, covers and edges foxed, extremities rubbed. A very good copy in a bright example of the jacket, two small tape repairs to verso, a few marks to rear panel, edges nicked and rubbed.
