The semi-autobiographical novel is presented in a conventionally-sized (non-Giant) complete and unabridged Modern Library edition with 39 reproductions from the original illustrations by Phiz, pen-name of Hablot K. Browne. Includes an introduction by E. K. Brown. Volume wrapped in light green jacket with Paul Galdone illustration of David to front panel. --- In Toledano spine 8 / green cloth / gilt titling on black spine & cover blocks / spotted black topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style i, verso lists 388 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1959-60 (though 1950 date appears in book). ML #110.3. --- A Fair-only copy, with obvious wear to cloth, creases to corners of several leaves, and prior owner's sticker covering another's signature to title page, otherwise a sound, unmarked copy. Price-clipped ($0.95) jacket with chips and a few small tears, otherwise intact and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector. Note: A partial split at rear hinge has been repaired on this item.; 12mo 7" - 7-1/2" tall; xviii, 923 pages .
