Volume itself has oragne and black covers with sharp silver lettering on the spine. 249 pages, including illustrations following page 134, contents consist of two parts, eleven chapters, a prologue, an afterword, acknowdedgments, notes a bibliography and an index. On December 7, 1941, a small American cargo ship chartered by the Army reported that it was under attack by a submarine halfway between Seattle and Honolulu. After that one cryptic message, the lumber carrier Cynthia Olson and her crew vanished without a trace, their disappearance all but forgotten and the mighty warships of the U. S. Pacific Fleet burned. This is the story! Page 165 has been dogeared at the lower outer page, measured diagionally it is about an inch. Throughout the work, there is light pencil underlining (maybe 5%). The dust jacket is protected in an archival quality Brodart cover. Dj is not price-clipped. A quite nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box!
