Boston: Excelsior Publishers, 1958. Signed and inscribed by author on fep to the Jewish Labor Committee. Stated First Edition. 8vo size red clothbound hardcover with black titles on spine and front cover; 262 toned pages including index. Memoir of Rosa Pesotta, (1896 - 1965) a Jewish immigrant from the Ukraine who became a labor organizer in the United States. Pesotta immigrated to avoid an arranged marriage and found work as a seamstress in a shirtwaist factory. Shortly thereafter she joined the ILGWU where she became very active in organizing new chapters/members in the United States and Canada. She became a vice president for the ILGWU, but ultimately split with them as the male-lead woman's organization failed to recognize the value of her work. Business library stamp crossed out and withdrawn written on inside front cover, library pocket inside back cover. Dusty top and some fingermarks on fep. Sunned spine bumped at head and heel.
