Sobre este artículo

New York: Random House, 1968. First Printing, First U.S. Edition. . Hardcover. Very Good/About Very Good. The Dead Men of Sestos" is perhaps the best work of Loraine, a mid-20th century writer of crime and suspense fiction now somewhat neglected. The book features David Hillyard, a middle-aged American who for twenty years has been secretly obsessed by the memory of an atrocity committed by German forces on the Greek Island of Sestos during WWII. Though denying he has ever been there, Hillyard visits the island to try to rid himself of his nightmare memories only to find the islanders openly hostile and threatening and his life suddenly in danger. The top edge of the text block shows some small stains, o/w text and boards are clean and unmarked, tight and square. The dustjacket shows two small chips missing at the top of the spine and a single small chip missing at the bottom; a quarter-inch tear in the top edge of the dj's back panel, some other minor surface and edgewear but no significant tears, chipping or creasing, not price-clipped. Collectable.
