Sobre este artículo

Putnam Adult, 2001. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. A copy that has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. A woman is drawn into the hunt for her sister's killer in this electrifying new thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Quiet Game. "A tour de force of suspense. It could as easily-and terrifyingly-be set in the Kansas of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood." -The Commercial Appeal (review of 24 Hours) With five novels, Greg Iles has proven himself one of the most talented and versatile thriller writers at work today. Critics hailed 24 Hours as "diab olical" (People), "ingenious" (London Times), "masterfully written" (New Or leans Times-Picayune), and "brilliantly plotted bone-chilling suspense" (Pu blishers Weekly). In Dead Sleep, Iles gives us his most intricate and emoti onally resonant story ever. Jordan Glass, a photojournalist on a well-earned vacation, wanders into a H ong Kong art museum and is puzzled to find fellow patrons eyeing her with c uriosity. Minutes later, she stumbles upon a gallery containing a one-artis t exhibition called "The Sleeping Women," a mysterious series of paintings that has caused a sensation in the world of modern art. Collectors have com e to believe that the canvases depict female nudes not in sleep but in deat h, and they command millions at auction. When Jordan approaches the last wo rk in the series, she freezes. The face in the painting seems to be her own . This unsettling event hurls her back into a nightmare she has fought desperately to put behind her-for, in fact, the face in the painting belongs not to Jordan but to her twin sis.

Sinopsis

They are called "The Sleeping Women." A series of unsettling paintings in which the nude female subjects appear to be not asleep, but dead. Photojournalist Jordan Glass has another reason to find the paintings disturbing...The face on one of the nudes is her own-or perhaps the face of her twin sister, who disappeared and is still missing. At the urging of the FBI, Jordan becomes both hunter and hunted in a search for the anonymous artist-an obsessed killer who seems to know more about Jordan and her family than she is prepared to face...
