New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1930. Hardcover . Used - very good/Good. A respectable copy of a scarce edition. Gift inscription, ffe. Top edge of textblock dyed purple. In unclipped dustjacket without price and appears to be about a quarter-inch oversized for the book. The dj verso contains ads for autumn 1930 and is repaired with archival tape. Dj chipped at extremities, the one at lower spine taking out the 'p and 'f' in Knopf, now protected with removable mylar cover.
Sinopsis
The novella Death in Venice was written by the German author Thomas Mann, and was first published in 1912 as Der Tod in Venedig. It was first published in English in 1925 as Death in Venice and Other Stories, translated by Kenneth Burke. W. H. Auden called it the definitive translation.
