Front endpapers a little foxed, as is the title page. Contents nice and clean. Original orange cloth, titled and ruled in black. Dust jacket with label removed from base of spine, slight wear, see picture First published in 1924 this collection of short stories is set in post world War 1 Germany in a sympathetic way. It includes the story 'Isn't Life Wonderful!' which was filmed by D W Griffith in 1924. This edition, with the Nicolson preface, even scarcer than the first edition. Moss, 1885-1954 was a professional soldier who retired in 1919 to write fulltime
