Mostly photographic portraits on every page, with paragraph or two of text at the bottom of each page as well. In French. Title translates as, "Defenders of Justice..."
Alfred Dreyfus (1859 - 1935) was a "French artillery officer of Jewish ancestry from Alsace whose trial and conviction in 1894 on charges of treason became one of the most polarizing political dramas in modern French history. The incident has gone down in history as the Dreyfus affair, the reverberations from which were felt throughout Europe. It ultimately ended with Dreyfus' complete exoneration" (Wikipedia). Louis Forest is the "Pseudonym of French lawyer, politician, playwright and author Louis Nathan (1872-1933), who is of sf interest for On Vole des Enfants à Paris ['We Steal Children in Paris'] (25 June-23 September 1906 Le Matin as 'Le Voleur d'enfants'; cut 1909; trans Brian Stableford as Someone Is Stealing Children in Paris 2013), in which a morally ambivalent figure of German origin is enlisted to solve the mysterious kidnapping of children in Paris.
