New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1904. Edith Wharton (1862-1937) won the Pulitzer Prize in 1921.This is a Very Good (Plus) to Near Fine copy of the First Edition, a collection of her early stories. Bright red cloth binding; ruled; with gilt lettering on the spine and front cover. Top edge is gilt; others rough-cut. Clean text; 312 pages. Previous-owner inscription and bookplate on the front paste-down. Spine is (very) lightly faded, and there is a small spot of discoloration. Nevertheless, a sound and attractive copy, with very little general wear. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
