Cambridge: Deighton, Bell, and Co, 1871. First printing. Hardcover. Good +. First edition, 1871. Two green cloth 8vo's, 280pp + 576pp + 12pp catalog at rear. Broadly illustrated, including maps, including many folding, colored or tinted. Includes large folding map at the beginning of volume II, carefully reinforced on the verso with paper tape and holding in very good condition. Volume II is generally very good with light shelfwear and rubbing to corners and spine ends. Volume I is in good only condition with general soil to boards, some insect nibbling to part of the spine cloth, and a few instances of dampstaining to the bottom margin. Contents otherwise clean and unmarked. A nice set of these scarce volumes.
