Sobre este artículo
[1723-1739].. 445 x 275mm.. Single leaf. Few tiny rust spots, no affect. Suitable for framing. Fine impression, illustrates costumes of mourning for women. Bernard Picart (1673-1733), son of the famous engraver Etienne Picart and a very good engraver himself, although born at Paris into Catholicism, converted to the Reformed faith and so, in search of freedom of worship, moved to Holland in 1710. This work is one the most famous illustrated histories of religion of its period. The plates were often copied but none are as fine as the originals.
