Forest green half leather, tan perhaps once marbled boards, with gilt titling on spine. Boards and spine are stained and edgeworn; leather is cracking. Binding is sound. Encircled initials on ffep. Pages unmarked. Moderate to heavy foxing throughout; text still readable. 16mo. (4 x 6 5/8 ins.) INSIDE: German Geography or World Description, Erste Americanische Auflage. A clipping laid in from the Express Times newspaper hand-dated 6 Dec 1935 states that this volume-one of only a few printed-was presented to the Easton Area Public Library by Irwin A. Daniel of Philadelphia, and quotes from the book this passage: 'Northampton County has 25 townships, one borough and 39,267 inhabitants and Easton has 3,529 inhabitants and a beautiful 600-feet long bridge across the Delaware river, a three chain bridge across the Lehigh river and a stone and wood bridge across the Bushkill creek.'
