Jacket shows some rubbing at spine ends and back panel near tail, with a few light scuffs to surface. Boards are sturdy and square. Rust spots at top of front free endpaper from laid in stapled notes, else pages clean and unmarked. Binding is sound.

Note from The Mail on Sunday Literary Editor Paula Johnson to prospective reviewer on Mail letterhead card: "David -- The Diaries herewith -- a 116 worder if you will. [?] sometime this week -- definitely by Thursday rather than Friday if you can. And I'm sorry about the [?]. Love Paula." We haven't yet located a copy of the review, nor could we determine what Ms. Johnson was sorry about.
