Publisher's grey-green paper-covered cloth lettered in dark-blue to the spine and lettered and decorated in dark-blue on the upper board. 146 pages. A VG copy (some very light spotting and spine slightly darkened). No ownership inscriptions. In the VERY RARE VG dustwrapper priced 2/6 net to the spine (as called for by the "English Catalogue of Books for 1918"). The VG dustwrapper has a slither of loss to the spine tips and a slightly darkened spine. On the verso is a strip of tape residue at the head of the spine. This is the first book by the author who went on to write "National Velvet" and describes her experiences as a VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) providing nursing care for military personnel during the First World War.
