Sobre este artículo
Marbled end papers with bookplate of Michaelhouse School, S Africa; stamp of St John Vianney can be removed on request. Minimal foxing on end papers and first & last sheets. The only other markings are red ballpoint underlinings at Sir Garnet Wolseley of Boer War fame and at Rupert Brooke. Marbled edges in magnificent condition. Gilt embellishments on spine. Truly of gift quality to any descendant whose ancestor is included. (Simply ask). The biographies cover those notable British Leaders, Politicians, Explorers, Missionaries and Military men, who died after Queen Victoria and prior to 1922. As such it inclcudes those Britishers who were responsible leaders during most great events of the previous century including the Boer Wars and the Indian wars (eg Lord Kitchener), Edith Cavell etc, but especially those who died during WW I (a great number of recipients of the VC). A great reference source for any historian. Not suitable for overseas posatge.

BOOKLOVERS PARADISE
You will find the LOCATION of our Bookstore on Google. ALL our books are thoroughly cleaned. All books with dust jackets/ wraps are completely covered in 50 or 75 micron High Density PolyEthylene (= "plastic" = archival acetate film), as are books without dust jackets costing more than US$20. Soft-covers and hard-covers without Dj s are covered in adhesive plastic. While we have neither insects nor dampness in our shop, you might find that the total plastic cover keeps both at bay. Covering the whole book means that the common edge-wear described by so many dealers is mostly absent in our books. Any "plastic" is easily removable, it is not adhered to the book nor to the dust jacket. We do not use sellotape nor any other tape which discolours. We restore books where necessary and describe ONLY EXCEPTIONS to a perfect state. Faults in expensive books are described in huge detail. WHEN RESTORED the majority of "faults'' are visible only with great difficulty and certainly NOT in an image. To avoid misleading you we include few images. Please be guided by the very full descriptions. If no faults are described in a cheaper book, please be guided by the Condition. RESTORATION SERVICE. We restore any book younger than 1800 making your grotty, broken old books look like beautifully-cared-for precious old books. DUST JACKETS IN FACSIMILE. We provide colour copies of any DJ in our stock. Please ask for quotes, images & descriptions. We pride ourselves that THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL BOOKSH0P:- THE CROSSROADS OF CIVILIZATIONS PAST; REFUGE OF ALL THE ARTS AGAINST THE RAVAGES OF TIME; AN ARMOURY OF FEARLESS TRUTH AGAINST WHISPERING RUMOUR; INCESSANT TRIUMPH OF THE RIGHT-TO-KNOW.
