The rare first edition of the gardening handbook was written by famous German botanical author Eduard Schmidlin. Richly illustrated with folding black and white plates.

The book's subtitle explains its content. Translated from German it's practical guidance for the most convenient arrangement, division, together with a comprehensive compilation of the most suitable trees, shrubs, and other ornamental plants.
The author describes their height, the nature of their growth and foliage, the flowering period, color, and so on. A handbook for gardeners of every state and industry, but especially for commercial gardeners and those who want to dedicate themselves to gardening. The book contains many garden plans and cost overruns.

Condition: Title page stained and slightly damaged, with dog ears. Minor stains and signs of usage and aging on some other pages as well.
