Boards very slightly rubbed and bumped; earlier owner's name signed on front free endpaper; light browning to edges. Good condition. Dutch text with Afrikaans introduction, notes and glossary. Perhaps the only - and certainly the only surviving - diary by a Trekker leader, and an eloquent leader at that. The story of Trigardt's ill-fated pioneering trek is one of the great stories of South African history. .
